mes of the Ol’ West and heartache, PonyBoy’s gravel-riddled tunes recall a 1950′s nostalgia and Southern Gothic Soul.
From Doom-Wop to junkyard country, the wanderlust-filled Californian set out to capture her own black tales of earthquakes and heartbreak with nods to a myriad of influences from Bobby Gentry, Howlin’ Wolf, and Karen Dalton.
The result, a freshly minted self-titled EP recorded to tape in the storied Stanly Studios by the production team of Amy Aileen and John Would (Fiona Apple, Warren Zevon, Wanda Jackson) mostly in one-take performances between beers and Mexican food.
